Ferrous Scrap

Uma International’s recycled ferrous metal products include the following:

 

  • Shredded steel scrap, homogeneous iron and steel scrap magnetically separated, originating from automobiles, unprepared no. 1 and no. 2 steel, and miscellaneous baling and sheet scrap;
  • Heavy Melting Scrap, or HMS, in pieces approximately 1.0 to 1.5 metres long, typically used in the production of primary steel products such as flat rolled steel, steel rebar, wire rod and structural sections, as well as other steel products made in larger sized furnaces;
  • MS Turnings and Borings typically used in the production of a wide range of steel and iron products;
  • Cast iron and pool iron pieces typically used by foundries in the production of cast iron items as well as primary steel manufacturers as a substitute for steel scrap.
  • Foundry scrap in pieces approximately 0.3 to 0.5 metres long, typically used in the production of foundry ferrous products as well as certain primary steel products made in smaller sized furnaces;
  • Hydraulically-compressed bales of varying sizes ranging from approximately 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.3 metres to 0.5 x 1.0 x 1.5 metres,
  • Stainless Steel Scrap of various grades like SS304 the most versatile & widely used stainless steel, SS316, the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, SS316L the low carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitization.
